Wet Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup sour cream

½ cup whole milk

2 cups cream cheese frosting

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. Cream Butter & Sugar: Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Alternate adding dry ingredients with sour cream and milk, mixing gently.
  5. Add Blueberries: Fold in fresh blueberries. Divide batter between pans.
  6. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes (toothpick test). Cool on a wire rack.
  7. Frost & Assemble:

Spread cream cheese frosting on the first cake.

Layer with blueberry jam and place the second cake on top.

Frost the entire cake.

  1. Garnish: Add fresh blueberries, lavender sprigs, and optional chocolate ganache drizzle.
